I remember regularly dining indoors in a restaurant right next to the main runway at London鈥檚 Heathrow Airport. Whenever a plane landed or took off, the flames on the table candles appeared to be drawn towards the aircraft. The effect passed once the aircraft reached a certain distance and it didn鈥檛 seem to be caused by any perceptible air movement. So what did cause it?
