Soon there’ll be no escape from the mind-numbing banality of other people’s
home movies: they’ll be handed out willy-nilly at parties. Sonopress of Germany,
part of the Bertlesmann group, this week launched a DVD-compatible business card
that, when inserted in a DVD drive, can play eight minutes of video—or
even more at low quality. Says Sabine Leuerer of Sonopress: “It will always
leave the perfect impression.” She’s clearly been watching a better class of
home movies than the rest of us.
