THE first of a new generation of 鈥渋mmersive鈥� Web-based films made its debut
at the Cannes Film Festival last week. The film lets viewers steer the camera as
they watch. The 4-minute production, The New Arrival, was filmed using
a panoramic lens to capture a 360掳 view of the action. Director Amy
Talkington says the technique leads to an entirely new type of storytelling,
since it requires 360掳 action and must provide cues to guide the viewers鈥�
