Wind turbines could become a common sight around the coast of Britain. Energy
minister John Battle announced last week that offshore wind projects would for
the first time be included in the Non-Fossil Fuel Obligation Order, the
government鈥檚 scheme for supporting renewable energy in England and Wales. Battle
hopes the offshore turbines will make a 鈥渟ubstantial鈥 contribution to Britain鈥檚
electricity needs.
