The current interest in the Titanic is partly the result of underwater
explorations by Bob Ballard, who found the wreck in 1985

his team recovered from the wreck are on show in Florida, and—appropriately
enough—on board the retired Atlantic liner Queen Mary in California
(http://www.titanic-online.com/home/).
