Thought: The Legacy of Alan Turing (Oxford University Press,
拢30/拢30, ISBN 0 19 823593 3/0 19 823594 1) celebrate Turing鈥檚 famous
paper, published forty years ago, on the nature of computing and intelligence.
The volumes contain 29 stimulating, if sometimes difficult, essays. Contributors
include Douglas Hofstadter of G枚del, Eschel, Bach fame, Herbert Simon,
Robin Gandy (Turing鈥檚 own PhD student), and Donald Michie who worked on code
breaking with Turing during the Second World War.
