The Oxford Amnesty Lectures began in 1992, and the aim is to ask scholars to
reflect on how ideas about human rights affect their work. Money raised from
ticket and book sales supports the work of Amnesty International. This year鈥檚
series is devoted to the values of science and kicks off on Thursday, 30
January, with Richard Dawkins, followed a day later by John Barrow. Other
speakers are George Monbiot, Daniel Dennett, Nicholas Humphrey and Mary Midgley.
