One of the country鈥檚 oldest Magnox nuclear reactors was given safety
clearance to continue operating this week. The Nuclear Installations Inspectorate
gave the green light to Nuclear Electric to restart reactor 2 at Bradwell
power station in Essex. Bradwell is the first of the Magnox stations to
receive permission to carry on running beyond its planned lifespan of 30
years.
